Mission
The NIMHD U54 Border Biomedical Research Center (BBRC) is a pivotal initiative, specifically crafted to elevate the quality and quantity of biomedical research, focusing on diseases that affects the predominantly Hispanic, low-income, and medically access-challenged community constituting the US-Mexico Borderplex region. The BBRC exemplifies commitment to health for all through collaboration with community stakeholders, local hospitals, and institutions at regional and national levels, including other Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI). This multifaceted endeavor is embodied in four cores and two research projects, collectively enriching the university's biomedical research landscape.
