Recent Birds at Rio Bosque
Water deliveries to the park from the Roberto Bustamante Wastewater Treatment Plant ended 25 January. These flows might not resume until May. The wetland cells are now dry, as is ~75% of the old river channel within the park.
The park's first spring arrival was a Black-chinned Hummingbird on 28 March.
The park's pair of White-tailed Kites has not been seen since 7 October 2025. A Cooper's Hawk pair currently has a nest under construction.
Currently, only one Burrowing Owl is being seen, sporadically..
The wintering American Crows are now almost entirely gone.
Northern Cardinals continue to be seen along the old river channel within the park.
