PASE participation must be recertified every academic year to continue receiving the benefit. Recertification is done electronically and is available from April to August 1st of every year.  To recertify, you must answer an electronic survey through your Goldmine account. Failure to recertify by the deadline of August 1st will result in your responsibility for the full non-resident tuition without the PASE benefit. There will be no exceptions.

• Once submitted, you will receive a notification to your @miner email within 48 hours.  The notification may indicate you have automatically recertified or ask you to reapply through Sunapsis. This email will not come from OIP, but rather a UTEP@UTEP.EDU email address.
• If you are not eligible to recertify automatically, you will receive an email to submit a new PASE application via   .   
• It is your responsibility to recertify your PASE on time each year, well before the deadline.  
• If you successfully recertify, the benefit will be reapplied withing 72 hours.

You are not eligible to recertify, and instead must reapply using the PASE application form, if you meet any of the following conditions:

• Major change in your income (greater than 10%)
• Have turned 24 in the past year
• Changing your marital status
• If you lost your F-1 status or will be changing educational levels, you will submit your PASE Application within your Admission Checklist. 

It is your responsibility to make payment arrangements with Student Business Services to avoid having your classes dropped by the established payment deadline 

Remember, tuition charges for the new academic year will not reflect the PASE tuition discount until you have successfully recertified and followed any action asked from you on the recertification results email.
