Please joined us for a book launch and film screening to celebrate the release of Rafael Lozano-Hemmer: Border Tuner | Sintonizador Fronterizo, published by Inventory Press.
Together, the book and 54-minute film document Rafael Lozano-Hemmer’s participatory art installation that created a platform for people in El Paso and Ciudad Juárez to converge along the U.S.-Mexico border and speak to one another across the divide.
Edited by Michael Nardone and Edgar Picazo Merino, the book includes texts in both English and Spanish that critically examine the legacy of Border Tuner within the wider frame of artistic production along the U.S.-Mexico border.
This event will feature Rafael Lozano-Hemmer (artist), Kerry Doyle (curator), Edgar Picazo Merino (writer), and Michael Nardone (writer) all in attendance. Books will be available for purchase on site. Presented by the Mexican American Cultural Center, in collaboration with the Rubin Center for the Visual Arts at the ¹ú²ú͵ÅÄ of Texas, El Paso.
